We don’t choose our pets — they choose us. You know, they’re like little angels, always by our side. That’s exactly how our little angel, Skret, came into our lives.
I remember the day I first saw him. I walked into a pet store to look at the animals. I hadn’t planned on buying a rabbit, but as I walked away from the guinea pigs, I saw him. I couldn’t forget him after that. Those big eyes, the little white tail, and his ears, so dear to my heart, stayed with me. My husband gave me Skret as a New Year’s gift. He lived with us for a full 13 years! Anyone who says rabbits don’t live long doesn’t truly understand animals.
During all those years, Skret was our favorite. He was always so happy to see us and had a special love for sweets — as funny as that may sound. He was a real family member, very kind and affectionate. He even learned to follow a few commands and never left our guests indifferent.
But time, sadly, is a cruel thing. It spares no one. Skret first lost his sight, and the vet told us that their eyes don’t adapt to such a long life. He lived blind for another year.
Skret was incredibly strong. When he could no longer stand, he would move his paws to signal for food or water. He fought for his life for three days. That’s how he passed — in my arms.
My husband and I cried a lot. But we came to understand that it was time to say goodbye. Still, we didn’t want him to leave us forever. I found the Spogad company online. I am so thankful to them — without their support at every step, the pain of loss would have been even greater.
Before I called Spogad, I read many reviews, stories like ours. That’s why I wanted to leave my own, in the hope that it might help someone else through such a great loss.
At Spogad, they treated us and our beloved Skret with such care. They supported me throughout the entire process. Then they created a Memory Stone for us. Every step of the stone’s creation was coordinated with us. Now, our little angel will forever be with us. He was, and still is, the mascot of our family. I’m especially grateful for how they transported the stone — it arrived in a beautiful wooden box with a stand. Rest in peace, our little angel Skret. You will always be with us, in your place and in our hearts.
Thank you, Spogad, for giving us the chance to touch our beloved pet even after his passing.
